The Service Dog Salute

The 9th Annual NY Dog Film Festival, presented by Purina Dog Chow, is currently touring the country. The film program includes the top three finalists in the new Dog Chow Service Dog Salute category: films about veterans whose lives have been positively impacted by the specially trained PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] service dogs by their sides.

The 10th Annual NY Dog Film Festival - that will premiere in NYC In October 2025 and then tour the country in 2026 - will include two $1,000 winners in the "Dog Chow Service Dog Salute" category. These short (five-to-ten minute) films illuminate the way that specially trained PTSD service dogs can enhance and save the life of the veteran they serve.
