The Little Theater is giving you the opportunity to bring your furry friend out to watch a film with you.
This is all a part of the first ever National Dog Film Festival, benefiting Lollypop Farm.
Lollypop Farm Board Member Matt Roberts joined us Thursday to talk about the event.
Last night we welcomed the first Dog Film Festival at the Seattle International Film Festival’s Uptown theatre. Hundreds of humans and their canine companions attended the two shows that celebrated the remarkable bond between dogs and their people.
Our arts critics have already recommended 42 great things to do this week, and our music critics have picked the 25 best concerts, but there are still hundreds more events happening. To prevent some of the quirkier and more extraordinary ones from slipping through the cracks, we've compiled them here—from a John Hughes-themed '80s karaoke party to the Pride Stripper Circus, and from Some Kind of Space Opera to the Anthology of Erotic Esoterica. Friday was Take Your Dog to Work Day, and on Sunday, you’ll be able to take your dog to the movies. That’s right — the world’s first film festival for our four-legged friends is coming to Seattle.
The Dog Film Festival, founded by The Dog Bible author and Radio Pet Lady Network co-host Tracie Hotchner, debuts in Seattle later this month. It's a one-day pooch party with two 90-minute showings of short films that's designed to bring both film and dog lovers together. The festival, benefiting Seattle Humane, will be held in the SIFF Cinema Uptown Theater, with showings at 4 and 6:30 p.m.
Attention to all those cinephiles who have a furry friend that you've always wanted to bring them to the theatre: Los Angeles will hold its first ever Dog Film Festival this weekend (June 4 & 5)! Created by Tracie Hotchner, the film festival was designed to celebrate the wondrous and storied bond between Man and Dog. She first began the festival last year in New York, and now it’s making its way across 12 other communities in the U.S., including Seattle, Chicago, Santa Fe, San Antonio, and, of course, Los Angeles.

There's no way you can hear the names "Benji" or "Lassie" without feeling a heart tug. And there's no way you can spend a Sunday watching films filled with Fido goodness without wanting to rush home to your own pup, arms spread wide. The traveling canine-focused movie event lands at The Crest Westwood on June 5, with a kick-off Afternoon Tea Pooch Party on Saturday, June 4. There shall be adoptable dogs in attendance, so let the heart tugs commence.
